I chose my topic because it is a good basis on the future and what it hold. It can help one express your creativity using technology and being able to express how one sees what it important to a normal everyday society. Also it can help maybe other being to acknowledge what one person thinks is important compared to another. My topic of creating your own social network is a great opportunity to be able to show what is see through the eyes of our growing generation.

- Which two of example WebQuests are the best ones? Why?
- the best ones were The hero & Ice cream because it was most creative and they were allowed to be open minded. Not only did i like them they also were the ones best for my character
- Which two are the worst? Why?
- the worst was the Egypt one cause it was so unorganized and the next one that was the worst would have to be grow school greens cause it really didn't have a meaning to me.
- What do best and worst mean to you?
- best means that it can be seen in more than one aspect.
- worst means that it isn't seen in more than one way or it is able to show creativity.

As i listen to this video, I didn't really understand what the purpose of it was the first time i listened to it. It spoke of many different things, but as i listened to it a 2nd time was when i understood the purpose and mean of it. His accent of one of the person made it hard for me to understand. I learned a few things, Wicked problems take creative solutions. Another thing is Teacher are the full designers. And finally is that pedagogy is another form for meaning of teaching. ( but i was really confused on the mean of this video)

"Today’s students are growing up in a world that is very different from the world of their parents and grandparents."
I agree with that completely. I grew up where technology is the basis of everyone's life. So many students use their computers for everything, writing, watching tv and movies, using it to keep a calendar, communicate with others and so much more. My grandma just learned how to respond to a text. She doesn't really know how to use a computer. I have learned to realize that they are going to end up changing the meaning of college and what you go for. I believe that when our children grow up the jobs that we are doing aren't going to be there anymore. I believe that people are going to lose the method of actually have a hard back book in front of them or not going to be able to write cursive and things that i learned when i was younger aren't going to be important.

"The first thing we need to pay attention to is the difference between a games’ “surface”
messages, as presented in its in its graphics, audio and text (what is commonly called its
“content”) and a game’s underlying messages and required skills."
This article brings a good point to the word content. The only message that a game is given is by the content that is on the surface. One never really looks at the real meaning of the game. What the game actually does for a child. Yeah i agree some games can be really violent and cause a child to be around more violence when playing it but they never really know what the violence is stating, some children know it is bad and think that a game is just fun, while other children can take stuff serious. I believe that games like these should be based on your thoughts if your own child should be playing them. I agree that gaming surface content can be bad but the hidden message itself can help a child become social if its like Xbox live where you are able to chat with people all over the world. A lot of games can help a child with hand and eye coordination, and can be a very positive things for some children who need the help. Also my thoughts in the social content it helps a child be able to actuallly talk, for example if one is really shy being able to socialize on this game your not really seeing ones face just hearing their voice which helps a child's speech.

Activity #1/ garden of time
Within the games of Garden of Time, 5 of the 10 things i think that it has based on the article "10 Things schools can learn from video games" is interaction, customization, exploring, context, and production. Explaining interaction, the game is able to do this because you have neighbors, you talk to people, you interact with friends and other who enjoy the same game. It also uses the concept of customization because you are able to make your garden look the way you want it to, also put things where you think they should be place. Last but not least it is also able to be customization because you are able to add friends that only you want to see and visit your garden. Another point that video games have is the exploring feature because you are able to go to other gardens and help them. You are able to see explore different areas and aspects of the game. Within the context aspect, it has pop up information that helps you level up and learn the point of what to do and where to go to achieve a positive outcome. My final aspect of the game that is within the article is production, because you are able to produce a place a way you want it and earn different things in different ways than someone else.

"They encourage players to sit back, explore and not move on too quickly, think laterally not linearly, and to re-evaluate one’s goals on occasion."
By exploring, it ia the basis for all the pointa of gaming because to me by exploring you learn the points in the game of how it works, what you have to do, and so much more. With exploring it starts to help a student learn of remember how to excceed to achieve a positive aspect of the game and by doing this helps you achieve a goal and high points or whatever method you do to win and conquer the game.

i believe that if one wants to over come something that you have to be determined too not feel so down that as long as i know i can do it i can over come it. Things in life are hard and life isn't known to be easy it is about setting goals and achieving them and by doing so it helps your self esteem. Also having good self esteem and also help a student learn to the best advantage. I never thought that school would have been so important until, getting into college. Looking back at school, i wish i would have taken it more seriously. I hope if i become a teacher that i can help students to want to achieve in a positive way.

"To do my best revelation-hunting, I locate the eye of a hurricane, park, and look around with an open mind. When I do that, revelations come frequently." -Jason Ohler
The way he thinks really lets me have an open mind to becoming a teacher. By that being said, I realize that becoming a teacher you have to have an open mind because students all are different and learn different ways. Being open and knowledgeable to different ways of teaching for students of all ways of learning to learn shows that one is able to teach the best way they can.

Deconstructing Arnold
1) I see different things within the pictures, one thing I noticed was that they used color backgrounds that bring out the words and the main points within the magazine. They also used a lot of sex appeal because I know today's society is mainly about sex and stuff. Also they made Arnold whatever the point of the magazine is to show that someone as famous as him enjoys it to make you want to read it or at least purchase it
2) In on cover he makes me imtimidating that I can get into shape if i do what he does and the other makes me thing that business is the way to go and someone not knowing of the place today's society is in might go for the point that the cover is putting across
3)Jealous because he is in such good shape and that not what everyone in today's society looks like nor can have time to get in that shape.
4) Looking good is the way to go and get you places, also it can put across dressing nice can get you to become professional.
5) Each cover is for a different type of magazine and a different information given in each one. The muscle on is putting off that looks and muscles can get you anything and the other one where he is all business shows that he is a strong powerful man that is determined and can also show off that he has rules and values. The muscle one shows off sex appeal while the other one shows power and dignity.

Within a multimedia project there is no limitations on rhe amount of information used as long as one cites the source where the information was found. All must give credit to the owner of the information for copyright purposes. No, one doesnt need permission if for a school related assignment as long as credit is given in citation form. As educators the multimedia used should only obtain to learning as have to deal with the task at hand, also when a student is using someone elses information they should be using it in a way where it isnt just copying someones work and making it theres they should be using the information and making it as a source to prove there own work. Educators are responsible for each student to use a resource correctly and cite it in correct manner. Some teachers can even given student certain references they can use to monitor that the source is correct and help for it to be used correctly. No, I haven't really heard the 8 myths if i have i never heard them stated like that.

"Yet many students lack an intuitive grasp on how to use digital technology"
I don't think that we lack the knowledge to use it, i just believe that we haven't been given a lot of opportunities within our public school education to use it or to be given chances to learn about how many different types of technology that there are and how many more that are being developed everyday. I would of never thought that making a little digital video could be so powerful if given the right words or the right meaning that is being shown. I think that everyone should be allowed to use digital technology for a lot of things because it can help some students understand the meaning of something instead of just using the old form of writing a research paper.

I think that if they want to make education from higher levels within the lower levels one should start to change the whole outlook upon education.

Texting lingo is one thing that is being used on daily basis and because of that it it being typed into everyday English papers which is causing a lot of grammatical errors when being checked, but the knowledge about this is that the students don't realize that they are actually using lingo while typing because they are so used to seeing this is it cause people to over look when rereading or peer editing others papers for a research paper. My knowledge is that it is known to be grammatically incorrect but why is it incorrect just because it isn't the English style of writing being taught it is considered wrong. Question to you: What if it is the new way of writing? How do you know that in another five years it won't be added into the English course concepts that have to be taught?

My Best Learning
Your scores were:
- Visual: 8
- Aural: 7
- Read/Write: 11
- Kinesthetic: 9
I found out that my learning style is more than just one main style i learn in all ways depending on what i am learning and what I need to know. I am more writing and reading than other but all mine are about the same number based upon the test. Some strategies I would take would be more practice and more one on one help depending on what I am trying to comprehend for example with chemistry i have to be taught exactly what i need to know i cant read it and comprehend it.

"There are many theories that address many students' learning styles. One of them is called VAK. VAK theory was founded and developed by Richard Bandler, and John Grinder."
Everyone learns in different ways and being able to
comprehend which way you are able to learn will help one succeed in everything
that one has to do. Also being able to manage your time helps to. I know I am
not a visual learner because I am horrible remembering a picture when given a
blank picture and having to locate say a part of the body on it, I have to
spend more time studying it than I would studying definitions. My auditory
learning isn’t really bad but it I am not fully an auditory learning I can
remember some things that have been said only if I write them down after being
stated. I can do well though when listening to auditory books, but if reading
it myself I have to reread it twice to grasp the point in the writing. I really
don’t know what I would consider my learning style.

DEJ #1: Digital Upgrade in Education
“What if bad writing is a product of the form of writing required in school — the term paper — and not necessarily intrinsic to a student’s natural writing style or thought process?”
What is really considered bad writing? We grow up learning
what is so called proper English, but who really determined what is proper and
what is improper. Everyone grows up in different regions of the world and is
taught what is proper to them. So is there really one way to say something that
is actually correct. Technology is bringing a whole new outlook on writing and
what is used on a daily basis. Texting is one thing that affects our knowledge
of what were learned in grade school and middle school to be proper English. I
think that as long as you are speaking in a way that the other person is able
to comprehend what you are saying then why isn’t it proper. Also the use of
slang effects a student use of so called good writing because of them using it
on a daily basis. What is really considered bad writing? We grow up learning

IPad assignment App Review
CourseSmart – is an app that allows a student to buy their
books for school and be able to access them right from your tablet. It makes it
more convenient to have to carry less to class and be able to help things
become more organized you are also able to highlight things within the book on
their and also take notes based on those pages. To me this will be a great look
for all college students to look into investing in.
Blackboard Mobile – is another app on the android market
that allows you to access your blackboard account as long as the college or
school has enabled it within their blackboard. I believe that this will be an
easier way for students to check if they have mail in the inbox and also if one
is doing a group project it’s easier to be able to get on your app more than being
able to get to a computer.

My plan for myself is to Teach High School Chemistry. I enjoy it really well as long as I can grasp the concept of it. I had a really good high school science teachers that gave me many great experiences and made me enjoy learning any time of science from anatomy, biology, chemistry. I really enjoy sciences for the most part and hope to give future student the experiences I had had and hopefully will be a great outcome from it maybe even a cure for diseases and students that become very smart and go to a higher education rather than just high school.
